Smells A Bit Pooey...

"We maybe didn't think this through..." said Darvin to no one in particular. It wasn't so much what Starks had said to him and Talathel, it was the fact that he was now standing knee deep in poo. The city of Baldur's Gate appeared to have a very nice system for disposing of waste by sending it to a place where people are supposed to go.

Talathel had started down the tunnel in the same direction as Starks and Arn. Darvin breathed a sigh and trudged after his friend. As he pulled up alongside the elf, Darvin looked at his friend. His face was tense with seriousness and he opened his mouth to speak.

"You know we may not come back from this." Said Talathel. The remark had caught Darvin off-guard but the seriousness of the situation had not been lost on him either. There was no way of know whether or not the two friends were well enough equipped to be down in the sewer, they had no knowledge of Baldur's Gate and were new to adventuring. Darvin thought back to the mishaps of the last cave they were in together.

Darvin stopped walking and stared into the darkness. Talathel stopped a few steps in front of him and looked back at the half-elf.

Darvin looked at Talathel and said, "I know that. I had thought about it too. But if we die, we die. There is nothing for us up there. If we climb out of this foul-smelling hole now we are just proving everybody right. I would rather die down here trying to become somebody than be up there and be nobody."

And with that the half-elf started walking again.

  1. Darvin doesn't have any knowledge of dungeoneering. Those bottom skills are only useable if you are trained in them. Sorry. :( I will give you your role in geography, if you would like, or stealth, but you can't use knowledge(dungeoneering) unless you have some ranks in it. It's like trying to know something about something you've never heard of before. You know a lot about fishing, but you don't know about dungeons, really. Sorry.
