Violet and the Guest House

Lanarra seemed slightly sad that Darvin and Violet wouldn't be joining them. But shrugged her shoulders and led Violet toward her house idly talking about the weather and other such frivolities.

After a few minutes Lanarra unlocked a solid wrought iron gate set between a very tall and formidable stone wall.
"Your house seems quite... forboding."
"My grandfather was nervous about the sins of his past coming back to haunt him."
"Aren't we all..."
She smiled. "Truer words were never spoken..."
The house would be better described as a manor. It had two separate wings and was surrouned by a large garden.
"You live here by yourself?" Violet asked impressed.
"Yes, ever since my parents died and left the property to me." She led Violet down the path and into the main house.
The interior took Violet's breath away. The floor was an smooth marble, the walls were covered in paneled woods and the stairs to the bedroom were some kind of green stone that she could not recognize. The foyer opened up into three rooms. One was clearly a kitchen. The second room was a library, and the third held a piano, benches, and ornate chairs.
"Are you hungry? I have plenty of food to share with you.

Darvin and Nym in the Taberna Morta

As Nym and Darvin made their way to the Inn Darvin was slightly distracted by the thought of pirate stories. However, he was hoping that the evenings activities would make up for the loss in story time.

Nym on the other hand was just glad to be away from the village woman. She seemed to have too much of an interest in Darvin and wasn't about to let the silly boy be distracted by the random harlots of Faerun.

The Inn and Tavern shared the same slightly ramschakled building. The sign hanging over the door read "Taberna Morta." Neither Darvin or Nym are able to translate the odd language, but can sound out the words.
Mind you, it doesn't actually say "Taberna Morta" I am using latin as a stand-in.

The inside of the tavern turned out to be nothing special. There were a number of patrons at the bar and at surrounding tables. The general mood seemed to be rather languid.
After a brief moment a man from behind the bar took notice of them. "Can I help you two?"

The road back...

Nym, Darvin, Violet, and Grumbleshanks decided to leave for the Lady Narath that evening. While packing up the meager remnants of their supplies they found two amulets wrapped around a note.

Darvin and Nym:
I finished these up while on the road. They only offer one healing a day, but it should provide some assistance.
Beranhond

They road out later that evening. Nym rode out on Nesme, Darvin and Violet on random horses they were able to acquire. Grumbleshanks trotted along on a donkey he named "Buggles."

They traveled for several days and nights without incident. They camped each night and Grumbleshanks, turned out to share the halfling love of food and was, though not at first, willing to share his food and ale.

On the fourth day they came to a small village late in the evening.
"I have had enough of camping out, I suggest we try the inn for the night..." Grumbleshanks mumbled sleepily. "Any objections?"

After "the Call"

Violet politely pretended not to hear the conversation that Darvin had carried on, and as Nym walked up, she asked, "Who was that?"

She added two black flakes to each of the two vials she was working on, and tapped them firmly and persistently until they became clear. At this point, she set them in a stand and added 2 drops of a liquid that instantly made the vials seem to churn and come alive. She quickly added stoppers, and looked at the vials intently, waiting for a cue.

Beranhond's Path

Beranhond felt a little queasy and felt ready to vomit. The path felt as if it had shifted drastically - it felt much like the Lady Narath at sea. He kept his head down to calm his stomach and hoped that the beast wasn't about to crush him.
"Eth... look up."
Beranhond finally raised his head and was shocked to see that they were sitting on a much narrower path. Tigrisclawu was cleaning himself and didn't seem to care. However, Aelysin was looking down in awe.
"I can't see any sign of the beast or the crossroads." She said to him as his stomach started to settle. Beranhond sat up more firmly and was even more surprised to see that their traveling group had been further reduced.
"Where are they?" he asked nervously.
"I think they are on the other half of the path." Zalkar responded as he shook dirt of his robes. "I hope they are OK."

Talathel's Path

When Talathel looked up he saw that he was lying next to Zalkar and Lailsan on the path. Except, there was no sign of the beast, Beranhond or Aelysin. The path also looked narrower, but it stretched far in front and behind them.
"What... happened?" Lailsan asked quietly.
"I... think that the paths have found a new home." Zalkar said quietly.

A Quiet Conversation

As Nym road up, Darvin and Violet slowed to a stop. Violet was still very alert, and searching all around for more foes as she asked, not looking at either Darvin or Nym, "Those looked like slavers. Do you have any reason why they were after you? Other than the obvious, of course." With this last comment, she turned and winked at Nym, then resumed her scan of the grass and area around them.
