And If I Should Die Before I Wake

As Darvin commands the ship farther out to sea and Beranhond rescues the woman from the halflings, an enormous thundering crack is heard clearly by everyone within several miles. All attention isdrawn to Waterdeep, which began to pitch and roll. Soon, the city walls begin to sink, consumed by the earth where they had stood. The air is filled with grinding, clashing metal and stone, as well as the protest of wood cracking, though there were few inhabitants remaining in the city, and so there are no screams as of yet. The city is consumed by the gaping maw underneath it in short order, becoming a giant sinkhole, except for the Temple of Lathander, which stands alone in the devastation, a single safe haven in the storm that rages on around it. As the buildings of the city sink, dustclouds rise up, and bestial shapes can be seen rising up from under the city, rushing out of the destruction to the surrounding countryside and trying to find cover. As the dust begins to settle, water begins to rush through cracks in the earth toward the newly created depression, sucking water from the river and the ocean, as well. The temple still stands, but lightning continues to crackle all around it, crashing against an invisible bubble surrounding the structure that begins to glow as it is struck by the bolts. The bolts increase in intensity, causing cracks to form in the now shimmering shield around the temple, until it abruptly shatters, leaving the temple exposed.

Into the Eye

Darvin stared in disbelief at what was going on around Waterdeep. Based on their position in the harbor, the ship was vulnerable to being swamped. Upon hearing Nym's question Darvin answered,

"We need to get farther out to sea. ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!" He took off at a run and headed straight for the helm. Nym ran to the bell on deck to signal to the crew that they were needed. As the crew assembled, Darvin glanced down at his hand and saw the ring Kilink had received in Baldur's Gate.

"Captain, you have been quiet for awhile, but I could really use your help right now," He said to the ring. The crew was standing at their positions looking at him expectantly for orders. The rain was coming down in sheets and the waves were getting bigger by the minute.

From the edge of dreams

Talathel awoke, not with a jolt that he somewhat expected when he jumped through the Dream gate, but very slowly. The light that came down upon him was warming. He allowed his eyes to adjust to the new world. For a few moments he did not move, unsure of if he was back.

"Did it work?" he asked, not knowing who else was in the room.

"Did what work?" the soft, gentle voice of Lailsan replied. She was calm, collected. Talathel was unsure of how long the group had spent in the Dream world. They were there for awhile, but he didn't know if time had moved at the same pace as it did there as it did here. Regardless of his questions, Talathel smiled at her voice.

"It did...it worked." Talathel slowly sat up. Lailsan looked as radiant as ever. "How have you been? Have I been out long?"

"Long enough," she replied. "We were worried about you all, but now that you're back things can return to normal. Whatever that is anymore." She gave Talathel a reassuring smile, the gesture for herself as much as it was for him.

Talathel reached out his hand and the two touched. He closed his eyes, knowing he was back in his world.

"I suppose you want rum?" she asked.

"You know me to well..." Lailsan handed him a flask.

"One of our passengers did not follow Beranhond's rules regarding alcohol. I managed to talk him out of throwing it overboard. Thought you could use it when you got back."

Talathel held the flask in his hand. "I do need a drink...but perhaps something to eat. What have you got prepared?"

Lailsan smiled. 'The galley is open...lets see what I can do."

The two elves made their way to the kitchen, Talathel giving quick hellos to his crewmates who were surprised to see him up and about.

I Pray the Lord (or Lady, as the case may be...)

Beranhond left Waterdeep early in the morning on the same day that Nym, Darvin, and Talathel awoke. He traveled up the road to the northeast, toward Red Larch, for several miles until he judged himself to be safe from the devastation that was about to be wrought on the city. He arrived at a suitable place in the early afternoon, just as the sky to the west began its ominous darkening and clouds began savagely throwing themselves around the city.

As I Lay Me Down to Sleep

As Nym, Darvin, and Talathel continue to wake, they notice that the sunny day they thought they saw through the porthole originally is quickly becoming stormy and cloudy. The room darkens noticeably as each of them begins to come to their senses.

After only a few moments of wakefulness, the boat begins to rock more forcefully, and a strong wind begins to come up. Shouts above deck can now be heard, and Greg starts and wakes, quickly moving to look out the window at the brewing storm.

A Re-Awakening

As Nym, Darvin, and Talathel each wake up, they find themselves lying in their beds, with a damp cloth on their foreheads, and a little light streaming through the portholes. By the look of the light, it is midafternoon, and there is a sailor sitting in the room, watching over each of you. Talathel is being looked after by Lailsan, Darvin by Greg, and Nym by Kailina. Lailsan and Greg are currently napping, Greg snoring softly. Kailina is writing in a small book. She doesn't notice Nym waking up.

Must end...

With the shadowcasters defeated the Elves turned their attention towards the crystal. However, as Illuvaen turned he noticed that the Crystal was missing.
"Who took it?"
"I did!" Aethea's voice came from the corner. "Your friends from the other world certainly helped out my ambition."
"Mother?" Illuvaen said astounded. "That thing has caused grief for generations!"
"Ah, yes, for us. Now it shall cause grief to those who do not support me. Harken on to me my loyal subjects!" The Elves stared at each other awkwardly, but from them came a core group of elves who surrounded the queen. Though most looked somewhat doubtful of their choice they had reverted to authority and thus, decided to follow their leader blindly.
"You do not support me Illuvaen?"
"Certainly not, we must destroy that crystal!"
"Never." From within the crystal odd lights began to circle and a large fire emerged in the center of the room.
"Perhaps this is time for us to depart and fight another day... we are few in number now." Druuv said to Illuvaen.
He looked around his battered forces noticing how sick and weak they were.
"Yes... I agree. This does not end it mother! You have shamed all of elfendom!"

All good things.

As the pistol shots hit the crystal it start to pulsate. From the back of the stairs you hear the stampede of feet. The stunned shadowcasters writhe in their chairs as a group of elves burst into the room. As Kilink turns to look they see the Elven Queen and Illuvaen leading a host of oddly armed Elves.
"We have come to end this." He says thrusting a sword upward. The host starts to run and hack at the stunned shadowcasters. While they do this Illuvaen runs up to Kilink.
"Hurry - reinforcements will arrive soon and we don't know if they can shut down the dreamgate. Go through the dreamgate, we will destroy the Crystal and finish off the Shadowcasters - you just worry about getting home."

The Final Chamber

Please post in this one now

The room is quite large - but it is impossible to see the walls of the room. Fifteen on front of you a group of cloaked figures sit surrounding a large red crystal. Fifteen feet behind them is what looks like an ornate mirror, but within it is a hazy bluish glow.
