Wet me whistle
"Spiced cider would run smoother, but wine will wet my whistle just the same. Yessir, I will find el capitan tonight and, if you would please, gather your crew tomorrow morning. JerkyGurki, would you care to join me? I could use your persuasive voice with the captain. After him, we'll scrounge up the fixings for a bonfire. What d'ya say?"
