"Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year."

Beranhond, Darvin, and Nym:
You arrive at intersection N without any incident. At that point, however, you come around the corner to see a wererat in dire rat form, standing near intersection M, who obviously sees you. She glares at you before turning and quickly running down the tunnel away from you.

  2. At the sight of the dire rat / wererat, Nym squeaks, her eyes widen impressively, and she hops behind Darvin and Beranhond. She peeks out timidly as Beranhond shoots at the fleeing rat.

  3. The arrow whizzed wide, and you watch as the rat takes a couple steps to intersection M, and looks to the left down the tunnel. You notice that the rat is illuminated from a light down the tunnel, and it jumps right as if surprised, and throws a bottle filled with murky liquid on the ground, and the air is filled with thick gray smoke.

  4. I would like to do a perception check of the smoke.

If the smoke is harmless, Darvin will be leading a charge.

  5. The air seems like just that: smoke. It's hard to see through, even with the light orb that Nym is holding, and it is quickly filling the cave. The bottle broke about 15 feet away from you, and is billowing out around you now. If Nym or Beranhond would like, they can try a spellcraft check to see exactly what the spell is.

  6. Could I get a Spellcraft Check, Nym?

  7. Alright. So here it is:
The cloud is a magical effect. It is the spell "Fog Cloud" which just creates a concealing cloud. However, as you are examining the cloud, you notice there is another, transparent cloud with effects overlapping the same area as the Fog Cloud. This second spell is a stinking cloud, like the potions created by Gurkirat.

  8. Sorry, my comment was a bit unclear. The stinking cloud ends about 10 feet inside the fog cloud, and the fog cloud goes about 5 feet behind the front of your group.

So the stinking cloud does overlap the fog cloud, but not completely. If you move 5 feet forward, you will enter the stink cloud area, and if you move 5 feet backward, you will leave the fog cloud area.
