Belladonna 2

Less than 10 minutes after swallowing the Belladonna, Nym began to feel the poison. She gasped and shivered slightly as the poison sapped her strength. Her hands shook and she pressed her cold clammy palms against her legs to minimize their shaking. Her teeth chattered and she gasped as she felt her strength sapped a second time. She squeezed her eyes shut and recited properties of the plant to take her mind of the pain. Belladonna. Believed to have killed the third prince of Luskan. The stalk is fleshy - leaves long and deep green. In the spring it bears yellow bell-shaped flowers which become particularly toxic berries by fall. It grows best in shade... She trailed off.

...In the dark of the cave's mouth, Nym crawled under a ledge and felt around for the fleshy stalk of the Belladonna. She found it and plucked several leaves. Little one, are you here? She heard her father ask behind her. She crawled out holding the leaves up to him excitedly. He smiled. You have done well, Nym. You have done well. He took the leaves and placed them in his pouch as he turned back toward the cottage. They ran through the dark undergrowth silently. Nym listened to the blowing trees and animal calls as they ran.

When the arrived home, her father immediately began preparing the Belladonna for use. Nym cleaned the boy's arm while his mother hovered over her. When her father appeared with the Belladonna, Nym moved aside. Nym's father force-fed the boy the Belladonna, and then squatted in front of the boy, examining his arm. The boy's mother and Nym's father talked quietly. After about 10 minutes, the boy cried out and begin to shake. Mommy, it HURTS! he cried. The Belladonna was doing it's work and it's damage. The boy lost consciousness, but Nym's father assured the woman the child was cured of lycanthropy. He carried the boy to the guest room and told the woman they were welcome to stay the night...

Nym felt her body relax and opened her eyes timidly. She looked around, noting that Beranhond was talking to his cat and Darvin was greeting an elf. Is Beranhond crazy? He seems to be answering his cat like it's asking questions... Weird. Nym was pale, and smiled weakly as she stood and walked toward the others, quiet for once.
