a small, but powerful light

He shook his head at Grumblyplanks latest comment and turned back towards Nym and the wound, but all thoughts of anger drifted out of his mind as he saw the momentary look on Nym's face. He turned and looked at Darvin, turned back and looked at her intensely. Ah... I see. He though smiling and understanding very quickly what was going on. That was a nice break from the stupid conflict he and Grumblyplanks seemed to want to happen. Her momentarily look defintiely took the anger out of the air for him.
"I don't think you will turn into a rat, we can take care of this. As for the others, we met them yesterday, though I would hope to call them friends. The Gnome's name is Gurkirat and he is a fabulous alchemist and bard - you might chance to hear a melody from his later, probably after the fight."
He kept smiling, glad to see a little light in such a dark place.

  1. Beranhond pulls out the Belladonna from his backpack and puts it into Nym's hands.
"Just to be sure, you should eat this - we wouldn't want you turning into a wererat after all."

    Ok... time to finish grading.

  2. Are you going by this rule dan:
"An afflicted character who eats a sprig of belladonna (also called wolfsbane) within 1 hour of a lycanthrope’s attack can attempt a DC 20 Fortitude save to shake off the affliction. If a healer administers the herb, use the character’s save bonus or the healer’s Heal modifier, whichever is higher. The character gets only one chance, no matter how much belladonna is consumed. The belladonna must be reasonably fresh (picked within the last week)."

If that is the case, she probably would want to use Beranhond's +10 healing.

  3. Sorry for not giving you more info earlier.

Your healing evaluation of her wound does detect that she has become infected with the disease of lycanthropy. And yes, you may use Beranhond's +10 healing. But the DC is only 15, not 20.

Also, belladonna is a poison in itself, so you need to make a fortitude save to prevent yourself from getting strength damage. If you fail your save, the poison will take 10 minutes to flood your system, and then you are dealt 1d2 Str damage. After that, you must make another save or be dealt damage once/minute for six minutes total.

    Belladonna
Type poison, ingested; Save Fortitude DC 14

Onset 10 minutes; Frequency 1/minute for 6 minutes

Effect 1d2 Str damage, target can attempt one save to cure a lycanthropy affliction contracted in the past hour; Cure 1 save

  4. Alright, so Beranhond rolls for the lycanthropy save, do I roll for the Belladonna poison save or does he roll for both?

  5. Nym:
You roll for both, but get to use Beranhond's modifier for the Lycanthropy save. You have to use your own fortitude save for the belladonna, though.

  6. Lycanthropy save: DC15
    (1d20)+10
    9+10
    19
    (Yay! No wereratism!)

    Belladona poison: DC14
    (1d20)+0
    13
    (Booo, no poison save)

  7. You have +0 frot save? Good thing you could use Beranhond's heal modifier.
