A Viking We Will Go...

Darvin finished checking his gear and then addressed the group.

"Alright it looks like everyone is ready. We have managed to not lose a man down here yet. Let's keep it that way. I imagine this Queen is going to have some pretty crazy tricks up her sleeve, so be aware. Beranhond, be prepared to use your healing talents, we may need them. And Scriptus, try not to shoot anyone in the back this time...Ok, everyone be careful and good luck."

Darvin turned and stood next to Talathel and pushed the door open...

Take 'er away Dan.

  1. Front, Talathel, Darvin
    Somewhere in the middle:
    all the henchies, Thjodolf,
I suspect that Gurkirat will want towards the back with Nym and Beranhond.

  2. Is anyone preparing any spells before the door opens? And are Talathel and Darvin attempting to go in opposite sides of the door?

Also, I would like a quick perception roll for everyone since the last battle has ended. In the next "dungeon" I will just use your passive perception checks, but for now, this is how we're doing it. Sorry.

  3. I will make a map tonight so that you can all see what you're getting into.

  4. Are you just leaving the guy tied up in the sewer while you storm in?

  5. perception: 12 (yay to using passive in the future)

  6. Tigrisclawu will guard him... hmmm. We should figure that out, maybe someone should just knock him out while we storm in.

  7. Remember that you have a ton of henchmen, too, and it is doubtful everyone will be able to fire into the room from the doorway, if it comes to that.

  8. Yes, let's leave scriptus and codex to sit next to him and hold hands. Is he homophobic? I think that would be wonderful if he was.

  9. Perception:
    Roll(1d20)+5:
    13,+5
    Total:18

Oh, and Talathel do you still have that cube around?

  10. Perception:

    Roll(1d20)+8:
    5,+8
    Total:13

And yes, I still have that cube. Lets do this, so Lofa can get his pint and a whore.

  11. That cube comes with a telekinesis spell, Beranhond could teach you the draconic words for it so that you could grope people from a distance. Mind you, don't tell Beranhond that that is your plan, he wouldn't like to hear such things.

  12. Talathel and Beranhond:
When Talathel tried to examine it before, all six words imprinted themselves in his mind. He could therefore theoretically use them already, but he doesn't know which word is which, so directing the spells would be a bit awkward. If you would quickly tell him which words cast which spells, he would be able to use any of the 6 spells on the cube.

  13. Ah, I did not realize he also had the words imprinted...
Quickly, as they push against the door Beranhond told Talathel which word was for which spell. It might have been an odd time to do it, but Beranhond felt compelled to let him know the words. Fortunately, Talathel has an excellent memory.

  14. Somewhere behind the meat shields and brutes, Grumbleshanks begins casting entangle.

Can I start a spell and hold it on the end of my tongue to cast when they open the door? If there isn't any plant matter in the throne room, but some in the sewer, can I move the tentacles into the room up to the edge of the spell's radius?

  15. Grumbleshanks:
Yes, you may hold a spell until the right moment. Also, you may assume that in the sewers there will be enough plant matter to use entangle anywhere.

However, since it sounds like you are asking a general question rather than a specific instance, I will give you a policy for the future. For entangle, if you are in a place with lots of growth and trying to entangle someone outside that area, the vines or tentacles or whatever can only reach as long as their length. So if you are in a field with wheat and want the wheat to wrap up someone walking on a road next to the field, it will work only if they are within reach of the wheat.
