Well then

After a moment, Gurkirat realized the battle had come to a halt and in turn halted his clarinet performance. He wasn't even sure if anyone had noticed the music, but he could see it in the improved postures and stronger attacks of his allies.

As his allies relaxed and began tending to their wounds, Gurkirat's thoughts turned inward. I'm getting too old for this shit. I should be playing music in a tavern, drinking ale, and wooing the ladies. Gurkirat popped out of his reverie briefly. Speaking of ladies, who is this elf checking me out? Whatever. Any girl joining this group is a wee bit too crazy for me. He sunk back into his thoughts for a time again and checked his clarinet for any moisture or damage. Terrible place for an instrument.

Gurkirat reentered the present as talk was made of finishing the adventure by entering the hidden room. "Excellent," he chirped from the fringe of the crowd. "Although I did see a few rats on my way here in case anyone wants to sharpen their swords on some weaklings before we kill the beast."

  1. Well, as soon as we get out of this sewer there should be plenty of alcohol, music, and wooing available.
