As there has been some interest shown, here are two books on sex in D&D for you to read. Let me know if you think they are worth implementing. I especially enjoy the "Book of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge," though its rules are rather complicated.
Of these, I have only read the Book of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, like I said, and so can't yet say which I would rather use, but they all have strengths and weaknesses. :) Let me know what you think.
I honestly had no idea this stuff was out there, and its kind of amusing.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind using these rules every now and again. I think it depends on the level of sex any one character wants to have. If you do it every now and again, then you can probably just say that it happened and be fine with it. If the character wants to have sex with multiple NPCs and/or dragons (I'm thinking Darvin here. He seems like a Dragon f****er) then the rules should be used, if only because the consequences of sex could make the game very interesting.
Maybe something like every five times a character has sex they have to use rolls?
I think they should be applied much more vigorously - sex rarely has consequences, especially in a time without birth control. Also, there is the chase involved that is important. The rules could probably be simplified a bit.
ReplyDeleteIf they are simplified thats fine. I just don't want them to slow down the game or worse, cause a writer to refrain from having their character have sex just because they don't want to do the rolls. In game sex should be (usually) fun and could lead to some great scenarios. I hope we can get a happy medium going here, uh, no pun intended(?).
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it is getting at making players work for their sex, and with some realism. The fact is that they might want sex and do poorly on their rolls and not get any. But, we can leave that up to Dan to figure out.
ReplyDeleteDan doesn't want us to have sex. Think about it. Remember how pissed he was when we all went pee.
ReplyDeleteI disagree. Peeing accomplished nothing. There are no rewards or consequences for peeing (other than an empty bladder) but there can be for sex, and those consequences might even affect your peeing...
