Ah hell...

Darvin watched Beranhond leave and then headed for quarters. Upon opening the door he saw that there was a piece of paper on the floor. He picked it up and walked over to one of the windows. It was from Nym, telling him that she was off to Silverymoon. He didn't know why. Darvin knew very little about Nym's background. He did know that she wouldn't have left him this note if she didn't want him to know where she was. She obviously cared whether or not he knew she was leaving. Well shit... Darvin thought to himself. His captain duties just got a lot more complicated, but it didn't really take him very long to decide what his next move was.

He had to go after her. She was barely 18 and Silverymoon was far away along the road that was crawling with undead. Darvin only had one thought about the things that were lurking outside the city gates and on the road to Silverymoon, Heinous fuckery most foul... He quickly headed back out to the deck and told Scriptus, or was it Codex? Either way, he told one of them to go find Beranhond and get him back to the ship post haste. Darvin then sought out Gurkirat and told him the situation. Talathel soon joined them. The three of them were about to get into a heated discussion about the next move when a man came to the ship looking for the half-elf and elf.

"Yes. We're right bloody here!" Darvin said coarsely. He was a bit on edge. "Whatever this is about make it quick. We're dealing with a bit of a crisis!"

  1. The man, who looked very wiry, walked with a slight limp. "I've a letter for you!" he cried as he clambered up the gangplank, shuffled onto the deck and handed a slightly crumpled envelope into Darvin's hands. The man combed his fingers through his dark, greasy hair, and held out an open palm, obviously expecting some sort of monetary compensation."

  2. Darvin handed the man a gold coin. "Thank you, sir." Darvin said.
He then ripped open the letter and it said...

  3. The letter's contents:

    My friends!

I regret that our last agreement didn't work out as well as I had hoped, but I have some work in Waterdeep that you would find worth your while if you are interested. I have instructed my man, Benlee, who stands before you, to tell you what to do if you are interested. I hope you will take advantage of this rare opportunity and look forward to doing business with you soon.

  4. Darvin read the letter and then looked at the man Marty had sent. "Tell Marty I do not have time for this right now. I feel like we have a higher calling than do slightly less than reputable work for him." And with that Darvin turned around and continued his conversation with Gurkirat and Talathel.

  5. Darvin:
It appears Talathel did not join you for your "heated discussion." So the discussion was with Gurkirat, apparently. I recommend editing your post to avoid confusion.

The man took Darvin's response very calmly, not reacting either with surprise or anger. "A higher calling, is it? I wish you luck, then. Perhaps we will meet again."

  6. Yes I saw that too. Apparently, Talathel does not read all the posts. And also, Gurkirat and I are still on the boat. We are waiting for Beranhond.

  7. I've been busy as of late, so I've skimmed them.

  8. That depends when Talathel comes down. He could be saying he's staying up there until everyone else has left.

  9. Talathel:
Is there any way you'd be willing to update your post and make it fit better with the timeline as it currently stands?

  10. I'm trying to figure out a way to do it without massively rewritting the whole thing.

  11. The gnome may be figuratively g-dead. He has lost interest and will be writing himself out of the game, leaving 4 players.
