As I Lay Me Down to Sleep

As Nym, Darvin, and Talathel continue to wake, they notice that the sunny day they thought they saw through the porthole originally is quickly becoming stormy and cloudy. The room darkens noticeably as each of them begins to come to their senses.

After only a few moments of wakefulness, the boat begins to rock more forcefully, and a strong wind begins to come up. Shouts above deck can now be heard, and Greg starts and wakes, quickly moving to look out the window at the brewing storm.

  1. As Nym and Kailina open the door to look for Darvin, a particularly large way crashes into the boat, sending them crashing into the door they had just opened.

  2. As Darvin starts to wake up he is violently tossed out of his bed. He landed upside down on the floor. Greg was standing next to him holding onto the bulkhead for dear life, Nym and Kailina were lying on top of each on a pile in the doorway. Realizing that he was no longer in the dream world, Darvin righted himself and asked, "What was that?"

"There appears to be a storm brewing, Captain" Greg said as he/she stared out the porthole window. Darvin got to his feet and quickly, well, as quick as he good after being asleep for who knows how long, made his way to the deck. Guybrush jumped down from where he was sleeping and tagged along. When Darvin opened the door to the deck he saw...

Darvin is looking at the weather in general and anything that would pose a threat to the ship.

  3. The sky is roiling, and lightning cracks from cloud to cloud. In the far distance, Darvin can make out land and recognizes the area as the mouth of the river near Waterdeep. It appears to him that the water is very far down the shoreline, which means a huge wave is likely imminent. The wave should be breaking on the shore far enough away that it doesn't pose much risk to you as far as sweeping you onto the shore or rocks is concerned, but it could still do a good deal of damage to the sails and mast, or it could tip the ship if you aren't prepared. The crew is mostly staring dumbstruck at the storm that has cropped up around them almost instantaneously.

  4. Nym quickly recovers from her unplanned monkey pile with Kailina and runs after Darvin, close on his heels. She knew little more than Beranhond about ships and storms (which wasn't saying much), but she knew something bad was happening. "What should we do?!" Nym asked Darvin.
