Southward Ho!

Darvin was surprised when Beranhond quickly downed his brandy. The cleric was not one who drank often and seemed to turn his nose up at the stuff most of the time. "He must realize the gravity of the situation." Darvin thought to himself. Talathel came in and sat down and Thjodolf soon followed.

"Where's Nym?" the half-elf asked to the rest of the group. No one seemed to know and everyone just kind of shrugged.

"Oh well, she'll show up if she feels like it." Darvin said as he picked up the bottle of brandy and filled up everyone's glasses.

"I called you all in here because it is obvious to me that something very evil is afoot. We don't know exactly what we are getting ourselves into but I highly doubt its going to be easy or safe. It seems unlikely to me that these terrible things are only happening in the northern half of the coast and I want to head to south to gather more information and get a broader perspective on the situation. I wish us all luck and if this is the last time we are all together, know that it has been my pleasure serving with you." As Darvin said this he held up his drink in toast and then downed it.

"Now, down to business. Thjodolf, where exactly are we going?"

  1. Beranhond turned and looked at the half-orc with large interest. That interest was sliughtly muted by the retched taste the brandy had left in his mouth.
"We should also think about any other allies we might like to find to join our 'team'." Beranhond said, having an odd case of deja vu, as if he put together such a team before, but that it had involved traveling between the stars.

  2. I will post info from Thjodolf tonight. Sorry I'm not quicker.

  3. Thjodolf answered very cautiously, "There many orc shamans, you know. I talk about my people. I come from the Shaar, far to South. There many different type of monsters there, make orcs and others strong. We find strong allies there."

Janusa knocked and quickly entered into the room, as well. "The Shaar is VERY far to the south. I know of another power we could draw upon. The same druids of Istishia that attacked the city could prove very valuable as allies in our fight against the corruption that ultimately undid Waterdeep. We should seek their help."

  4. Interesting, looks my post didn't actually post
At the mention of the druids who destroyed Waterdeep Beranhond raised an eyebrow and stood and began to pace. While doing so he cast'detect evil.' It wasn't that he distrusted Janusa, but more that he wanted to make sure she wasn't being influenced by anything.
"My concern with the druids is that they attacked Baldur's Gate and destroyed Waterdeep. Now, we know that Lathander has being corrupted from inside, but many other people do not know this. As a result, if we go to them for help how does it look from the outside. Secondly, do we actually know if we want their help? They did damage a lot of peoples homes and property and the tsunami in Baldur's Gate was not without injury."

  5. Beranhond detects no evil from Janusa. Would you like to do a sense motive check as well, to see if you can see anything about her feelings about the druids?

  6. Janusa responded to Beranhond's accusatory questions, "Sometimes some of the wheat must be cut with the chaff! There are times when a leg must be cut off lest it become infected! These people that were injured were not the target of the strike on Baldur's gate, nor was Waterdeep idly destroyed! Istishia is tempestuous, yes, but he is the god of purification, and both of these cities were corrupt. If you can say nothing else, you can say they are no longer havens of evil as they once were."

  7. As Beranhond is casting around to find out whether Janusa has an evil aura, he detects a very powerful evil aura onboard, coming from behind her.

  8. The aura is so powerful, Beranhond is stunned for a moment, overwhelmed by the evil that he senses.

  9. Posting for Whittaker, who says that posting from a Kindle isn't the easiest. Beranhond looked stunned and barely heard Janusa. "I meant no offence. However I think we have bigger problems right now. There is something
quite evil on board that i just sensed and I think we should deal with whatever it is first."

Beranhond gestured for everyone to be prepared, and weapons were drawn from their sheaths. He led the way, walking out of Darvin's cabin to see if he could see anything in the hallway. Once out there, he cast Detect Evil again, and this time was not stunned, detecting a much weaker aura from the direction of Nym's quarters.

The group gathered around, preparing to open the door and deal with whatever might be inside.

  10. In the group of people outside Nym's door is Beranhond, Thjodolf, Janusa, Darvin, and Talathel.
