A Description of the Ruined City

From whatever side you enter the city, what rivets your attention the most is the pure and utter devastation this city has gone through. More than half the buildings have completely collapsed, leaving nothing more than a pile of debris, and the walls have been shaken on their foundations, looking like ragged teeth sticking out of the ground where bits of towers and small piles of stones still stand amidst scattered boulders.

The cries of the injured and dying can be heard as a thin, pitiful symphony driven by the more urgent calls for loved ones and scrambling amidst piles of wreckage to try to free those who have been lost.

Of course, as with every natural disaster, there are those who use the chaos to further their own means, and once in a while in the tumult, one can see a man crying for help, only to have his would-be rescuer stab him and steal whatever he can from the corpse or simply break into a house that was still standing to find what treasures can be found.

The city watch is a mess, setting up emergency relief tents and taking over the squares and greens to tend the injured, and trying to bring order to the city, but not yet accomplishing that much.
