Ooo! A Ship!

While Nym sat on the deck, Talathel called out to announce he had spotted a ship from the crow's next. Excited, Nym ran to the railing and peered out to sea looking for the ship. Darvin commanded the crew hoist the sails, and as the Lady Narath began picking up pace, a merchant ship became more visible. Nym waved to the ship, even though it was unlikely they could see her from that distance.

  1. As the ship gets to within 1 nautical mile, (it is on course to pass about 1/2 mile to the port of the Lady Nym) the crew can see that its colors are those of Lantan, an island nation in the south.

  2. I guess Lantan has a large population of gnomes:

At least according to one site I was reading:
"Lantan: Home to the largest population of gnomes in Faerûn, Lantan is an island nation of wondrous invention and bustling commerce that lies north of the Chultan peninsula."

  3. I guess I should have known that. I don't keep track of my people as I should.

  4. That was also from a 2e version of forgotten realms, so it could very well have changed by the 3.5/.8 version that we are using for this one.

  5. Their colors are blue and silver. And it is still rather heavily populated with gnomes, yes. As the ship draws closer, you see that most of the crew are gnomes, and they seem content to sail past you. Are you going to try to stop them or just continue on your way?
