Wandering in an Astral Sea

As soon as the creature had been felled he turned toward Zalkar.
"Shutup."
"But, I didn..."
"You are talking, shutup!" He said forcefully.
"We will talk later oh powerful Wizard of Thay." He said as turned away from the Wizard. I probably shouldn't take my anger out on him. Beranhond thought. Though, he did lead us into the Astral Sea without any kind of plan...
As he stalked away from the wizard Beranhond saw that Tigrisclawu had found a nice bit of dead animal flesh to play with and seemed content. Weird cat... He thought shaking his head. Over to his left, Aelysin had knelty before the corpse of the creature and was trying to remove her arrows. She was having a bit of problem as the arrows seemed locked within the carcass.
"So, Aelysin..." he said approaching her.
"Yes, Eth?" She said, still prying on the arrow.
"You are very good with that bow. I think most of the injuries were caused by you."
"Well, thank you." She said smiling at him, before turning back to the corpose ."I just do what I can."
"So, did you learn those techniques from hunting?"
She didn't look at him. "In a way."
"Oh?" He said looking at her closely.

"Hunting... while working with the trading guilds?"
"I guess you could say that." She stood up looked over at Zalkar and then stepped closer into him. Then, to his surprise, she put her arms around his neck and pulled him to close
"Oh Eth, you aren't the only one with an interesting past. Let's just say that parts of my past have been more interesting than simply working for a trading guild." Before he could respond she pulled his face down and kissed him.
"In either case, I will tell you more later when there are less prying eyes. Let's just get out of this mess."

  1. To generate more connectedness between the plots, feel free to leave "voices of consciousness" in other character's heads. For example. In this situation Darvin could be saying to BH "go for it!" However, try to keep them in the tone of how the character thinks of your character. For example, Darvin tends to think of Talathel as a bit of a drunkard... so Talathel's thought's in Darvin's head should be along those tones. The character can choose to "mentally" respond. But, if they do not, don't continue to pester them :).

  2. Beranhond hear's a familiar voice in his head as Aelysin leads him away, "Ha ha! I knew you had it in you Beranhond! Make it a night she will never forget!"

  3. As the three of them continue down the path Beranhond tried to push Darvin's voice out of his head.
Of course he would suggest something like that. He thought. But that would be a terrible idea...

  4. Beranhond shook his head to clear Darvin's voice.
    "Zalkar. Where are we headed?"

"Well, the Astral sea is timeless and infinite. For our pathway, we combined elements of the mirror plane to cut across the Astral sea. Floating throughou the Astral sea are the realms of the gods, pandemonium, various places of hell..."
"And where are we in all of this what portals might we run across?"
"That is good question." He swallowed. "Most of the portals we have explored lead to different parts of Faerun. Some lead to other material planes that have not been discovered or examined. Those typically look slightly different." He looked out for a moment.
"I think we are not too far away from the original path. So, we are probably on route to reach a normal Faeruvian gateway."
"Well, if not maybe I will have to go all Paladinlike and smite evil."
    "But I am not evil."
"My smite evil sensor might be a little off." Beranhond said in a chipper tone.
"Narath will probably forgive me." He quickly bit his tongue. About that least...

  5. "Perhaps you shouldn't have so easily trusted a wizard of Thay," murmured Nym's voice to Beranhond.

  6. Is what Nym would certainly say. Beranhond thought. He chuckled to himself. For a teenager she sure had some hatred at the world. Or maybe a lot of that hatred is because she is a teenager. In either case there had been something odd about her lately - a lot of hatred, malice, and a faint touch of something worse. He would need to warn Darvin about that.
"Beranhond, pay attention. You are about to walk off the path." Aelysin said pulling him more toward the center.
    "Stop daydreaming."

  7. Zalkar slowed and let Aelysin and Beranhond walk on by. Then, an odd grin came to his face. "Zalkar! Catch up!"
"Oh... coming... coming" He said with what was now an evil grin. His hand had reached toward a vial on his belt, but he quickly let that go.
"So sorry about all this mess Beranhond... I don't know what happened."
