The Druid Temple of Llewellyn

Alan, I assume you're okay with heading to the temple?

Nym, Talathel and Violet begin walking into the town, and have no problem spotting the temple. The town is built in a flat area between two ridges coming down from the mountain that is the primary topological feature of the island. The temple is nestled into the mountainside just above the town. Steam from the mountain rises and covers much of the temple, but there is a very clear path leading up to the temple from the main thoroughfare in the town.

The trek up to the temple takes fifteen minutes, and the trio arrives to find the area relatively clear of people. Outside they find several attendants (1 halfling and 1 elf) maintaining the grounds, and through an entryway that consists mostly of a gaping hole in the front wall, they see three people worshipping (one human and one half-orc), and one half-elf druid who is meditating and communing with Istishia. There is a pool of water in a sort of well at the altar where the druid is meditating, and water seems to be gurgling up to the top, but it does not overflow its bounds.

  1. Alan and Erin, what would you like to do at the temple?

  2. "Well Nym, what do you say we try and get recruited?" Talathel walks around the grounds, taking in the sights. He finds himself at the pool, watching the water move.

  3. Thinking Nym to be eerily quiet, Talathel decides he'll have better luck inside the temple."Besides, I'm more likely to find something of note there." He slips past those meditating and into the temple.

  4. The pool is inside the temple, not outside, but I will give you some more detail.

The druid who is communing is a young half-elf woman, wearing robes made of seaweed. As Talathel and Nym approach her, they notice that she has a very noticeable burn scar running from the left side of her scalp down under her left eye and extending to cover her chin and left ear. Much of the left side or her head no longer grows hair, but the rest of her hair is long and falls in red ringlets to the middle of her back.

Her eyes are intelligent and clear as she opens them. The scars are the only thing marring an otherwise extremely beautiful face.

She stands as they arrive, and bows to Talathel and Nym, "Welcome to Istishia's Temple. Have you come to worship?"

  5. "We've come to find understanding, at least." Talathel sits down, facing her. "Can I find that here?" He smiles at her, taking in her face. He finds the burn marks interesting, and wonders if they are a recent injury.

  6. Nym remains standing, silently watching their interaction.

  7. Talathel finds the silence to be a bit odd. "Perhaps we can find the understanding we seek through worship. Will you show us how to worship in your way?"

  8. After a very long pause, the woman responds. "Understanding... Some have found that here. I myself am one of them.

When you look into this water, what do you see?"
