Spiral Battle in Candlekeep

Here is the map of the area for the battle. Once we get everyone's initiative, the conflict will continue here.

The order of combat will be as follows:
  1. Johan
  2. Beranhond
  3. Ceilith
  4. Darvin
  5. Ragnar
  6. Baddies
I have shifted Ceilith and Ragnar's turns to be right next to the people controlling them in order to speed up combat a bit. All of the enemies will take their turn at the same time.

  1. I figure our battle will be taking place in this post, so here is my initiative roll.

  2. Thank you for your correction. I was basing the spelling of his name off of the spelling in your text to me.

  3. Which is perfectly acceptable, except that I just checked and I have verified that I spelled it correctly in the text.

  4. Alright. The only thing still to be figured out is Ragnar's stats. We don't need to wait on that, so Johan, please begin. I will assume there has been plenty of time for you all to draw your weapons at this point.

  5. Johan is going to step forward, and smack the soldiers 1 and 2 with his Clever Riposte, battering aside the guard of one of them to inflict a telling blow, and stabbing something important in the gut of the other.

Woohoo for nat 20 against the first guard!

  6. Beranhond, charges forward (+2 to attack after a charge), and slams his sword into number 2 sundering his armor.

    Roll(1d20)+17:
    18,+17
    Total:35 hit!

    damage:
    Roll(2d8)+9:
    6,1,+9
    Total:16
effect: Until the end of my next turn you and all allies can score critical hits against the target with an 18-20.

Action point to attack number 2 again.
    Roll(1d20)+17:
18,+17 (crit because of sunder armor)
    Total:35
    Total damage:
    1d8+9=17+
    Roll(3d8)+0:
    3,8,2,+0
Total:13 (His longsword grants an additional d8 per +, since it is a +3 this means he rolls an additional 3d8.
    Total:15

His armor flies up in his face and Beranhond quickly slides his sword up through the guards heart dropping him.

(move, standard), as a minor action BH will mock the head guy
"I am the vanguard of your destruction."

  7. Sunder armor was an encounter power, so I won't be using that again anytime soon, plus I actually forgot to include the charge benefit into the attack roll.

  8. Alixondra's turn:
Alixondra lifts her greatsword and charges to confront guard 5.

"I will show you true power" she shouts, challenging the guard. She marks the guard with a minor. The guard will take 3 damage if the attacks do not include Alixondra as a target.
She then swings her sword at the target:
    Roll(1d20)+10:
    19,+10
    Total:29

The sword slams into the guard drawing blood.

    damage:
    Roll(1d10)+3:
    6,+3
    Total:9
    Effect:
If target was marked (it was) it takes a -2 to its next attack roll.
That was move minor standard, she is done.

  9. On the spreadsheet, I changed the R, F, and W to Ref, Fort, and Will, so that is why they weren't working. Sorry about that. It would only have changed one hit, which I'll give you as a "get the machinery working again" bonus.

Other than that, well done so far! Nick, it's your turn!

  10. I've also modified the spreadsheet so you no longer need the "Creature Code". You just need to input the Creature name (as listed in the column to the right) in the "Target" column, and it will work from there.

  11. Nick, I know you're at school now, but please post your actions this evening by the end of the day so we can keep this combat going. Thanks.

  12. Darvin stands behind Alixondra and Ragnar and readies his trident. He shifts into the Aspect of the Hungry Shark stance, and hurls his trident at the guard hanging back.

The trident slices into the man, who is now injured. Darvin prepares to prevent his foes from escaping by riding the morning mist, teleporting behind them. Step of Morning Mist

  16. Guard 3 busies himself to try to draw everyone's attention (Defender Aura - Any PC who doesn't attack him or someone else with Defender Aura takes -2 to attack rolls) While he's shouting insults, he swipes at Ragnar with his sword, scoring a hit.

  17. Guard 4 turns to face Darvin, who has just teleported behind him, and swipes at him with both his battleaxe and his handaxe. He hits with the battleaxe, but misses with the handaxe. Darvin lives to fight another day.

  18. Guard 5 retaliates against Alixondra, swinging his warhammer at her. Unfortunately, at just that moment, Guard 4 tries to distract the party of adventurers, and Guard 5 swings wildly and connects very solidly with Guard 4's leg. Blood pours from the wound, as he struggles to fight on.

    Attack (against Alixondra): Roll(1d20)+15:

  19. Okay, Johan is going to slam into the jerk who nailed him (Guard 1) with his Piercing Strike:

    15+6=21 vs Ref

    9+11=20 damage

Plus it knocks the guard 1 square backwards, giving Johan a bit of breathing room.

He'll use that space to make a Move action behind Beranhond such that moving to hit him again would provoke an Opportunity Attack, and finally using his Minor to grab the crossbow from it's harness on his back.

  20. Beranhond, seeing the damage wrought by the enemies calls out to his comrades "hold strong, they shall not stand against us!" He shifts past the guard and smashes his sword against the lead man's side.
