Meeting at Milway's

Talathel gave a slight bow to to Beranhund and begun to weave his way through the city. It was a fairly nice day, and he took some time to enjoy it. He had not specified a time with Azeline, but he had said evening. He had time to relax and see what had changed in Baldur's Gate since he had last seen it.

Not much had apparently changed. He found that odd. He had certainly changed much since then, but cities, he supposed, were harder to change.

He found himself wishing Beranhond or Darvin had accompanied him. He had been wandering alone for most of the past few years. If anything, the conversation had been nice the past few days. He hoped that Azeline would want to come, if anything because he'd have someone to talk to.

He came across Milway's. For a second, he thought of Lailsan. After all, this had been where they had met. He had roped her into his adventures then, for a similar reason. A selfish urge to have companionship. No doubt, he had shared some special moments with Lailsan, and while it had not ended bitterly, it had ended.

He waited outside the pub for a half an hour, and did not see her come. Perhaps she was already inside. He entered Millway's and looked around. No sign of Azeline.

"I am the last Azeline," had actually been her response. There might be more to Azeline than he had thought.

He settled in at a table with a view of the door. He told the waitress that he was waiting for someone to avoid ordering at the time. He would have to rectify his money situation as well. He waited and watched the door.

  2. After twenty minutes, the lady Azeline, entered. The transformation was rather dramatic. Instead of the coiled hair and elaborate gown she was wearing a rather simple pair of hose and a well fitted vest.
"Well, Talathel, you look quite less dramatic in that outfit." She said nodding toward his everyday monk wear.

  3. "This much more my style, lady Azeline." He stood up to greet her. "I was never much for high society." He bade them to sit.

"I suppose you would want me to get right to it?" She nodded."I am part of a...revived adventuring group. We have just received a privateering license, or contract, or whatever from the city. We will be seeking a treasure. I should warn you there are some undead involved, but our plucky captain has assured us they won't be any problem at all. He's quite possibly wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. Anyways, we , and by that I mean I, would love for you to accompany us. Beranhund, our, cleric? he says that if you have sailing experience, that would be a plus, but if not that's fine. This would be a chance for you to see the world and have an adventure, and who knows what else. What do you say?"

Talathel had not felt this energized in years. An adventure was afoot!

  4. "I am certainly willing to enlist, though, I'd prefer not be called an enlisted sailor. I'm not sure if there's a better term to describe my roll on the ship. I am will versed in knots, swords, a bit of treasure hunting, and multiple languages."

  5. "With that skill set, I don't think we'll have a problem finding you a different title. I believe we're all privateers, but I don't know that we have assigned roles. Would you like to come and see the ship and meet the captain?"

  6. This little substory can keep going as we have the main argument.

Azeline nodded, accompanying him down to the vessel.
As they arrived shipwrights were moving over the vessel tearing down torn sails and examining the shipwork.
"I expected it to be a little more... finished." She said, but looked impressed. "Still, I thought this vessel had been condemned."

  7. "The ship has seen better days, for sure, but with our recent loans, we'll be able to get it to its former glory. The Lady Nareth is one of the finest ships in Faerun."

  8. Darvin, stumbled about the ship with a glazed ghostly look on his face, seeing Talathel and the Lady Azeline he moved on over and mumbled something incoherently.

  9. Darvin continued mumbling incoherently as both Talathel and the Lady Azeline looked on confused.

  10. "Darvin, have you met Lady Azeline?"

  11. Darvin's eyes narrowed. "No..." He said looking her up and down in surprise. "She's..." Shandri coughed behind him. "Yes, Darvin, she's a half elf."
