On the outskirts of the Village

Several days Talathel found himself stuck out in the woods in the middle of a rainstorm. He, Lailsan, and Zalkar were huddled underneath a length of canvas that they had stretched between two trees.
"Why are we here again Talathel?" Lailsan asked. "This is miserable."
"I could cast..." Zalkar said in a hopeful tone.
"No, Zalkar, I don't trust any of your magic." Talathael said taking a sip from his flask. "I know that this is one of the entrances to the village.

I'd like a little bit more description of the area. I am not quite sure of how to proceed.

  2. But of course

Talathel, Lailsan, and Zalkar, are back in the puple and pink forest huddled against the rain. Talathel managed to find his way back to the clearing that led to the village, and near the grove where they had, in what seemed an entirely different life, made the decision to talk to the half elves. The small clearing seemed rather unused, but Talathel could spot several deep footprints and other signs of recent use. These footprints seem to lead toward a centeral spot.
Talathel is gently reminded remembers that last time he entered the village Druuv led them through over a fire to enter. He suspects they probably have some defense mechanism to ensure only friendly people enter.

  3. "Come, lets follow those footsteps. If anyone stops us, we shall tell them we are seeking Illuvian. Do not mention the queen. We will find out from him what the situation is."

  4. The three of them set off through the rain following the footsteps. Their feet slip into the mud more than once and several times they fell onto their faces. The footsteps led to a small, cleverly hidden hole in the ground. One by one they climbed into the hole.
The hole turned out to be a muddy, wet, and cold tunnel. Inching along they all groaned. After several minutes the tunnel opened up into a larger cave that was dimly lit.
"Who are you?" A voice echoed throughout the chamber.

  5. "My name is Talathel, member of the adventuring group Killink. Who might you be?"

  6. "Kilink? I have heard of no such group. Why have you come, do you serve the former queen?"

  7. "The queen? No, I serve no one. In my travels, I remember a village near by. There I met a half-elf named Illuvian. I am seeking him. Do you know of him?"

  8. There was a moment of silence.
"We do know him. What do you know about him?"

  9. "He helped myself and my group defeat the shadowcasters. I must confess, I know little of the Prince, but he would know of me."

  10. "Blindfold them." Several figures moved forward and covered there eyes.
The three of them lost track of time as they were led through the darkness.
Eventually, however, there blindfolds were removed and Talathel found himself sitting at a desk across from Miss Stake.

  11. Miss Stake looked over Talathel.
"Look what the cat dragged in." She then spotted Lailsan. "And someone far too pretty to be hanging out with you."

  12. "Ah, you must be a little bitter about how our last encounter went."

Lailsan gave Talathel a quizzical and somewhat judgemental look. "Worry not..." he said. He was not quite sure how to frame what had happened the last time he was with Miss Stake. His loyalty to Lailsan had prevented him from going to far, but he knew he was not completely innocent.

"I thought you ran an inn? This seems to be a quite peculiar way of enticing guests."

  13. "Bitter?" She crossed her arms. "I wouldn't say bitter, more disappointed about being led on. No one likes to feel like a fool. As for your other question, I am one of the main leaders of the people's revolution now. The inn has become a staging post for overthrowing Aethea."

  14. "My apologies...as you can see, I had my reasons, as frustrating as they must have been for you. What is this people's revolution? It seems that much has changed since I was last here."

  15. Before Miss Stake could say anything Lailsan perked up.
"What is going on? Who is this Talathel?"

    ReplyDelete
  16. I should get a hero point for posting two days in a row....

"When I first came to this plane, she was the keeper at the inn Darvin, Nym and I stayed at. I think its fair to say there was a mutual attraction?" Miss Stake raised an eye brow. "However, I put an end to it before that attraction was acted upon. In my confusion upon arriving here, she reached out and was friendly, but I was determined to get back to you, so I parted ways with Miss Stake until just now."

Talathel felt that his answer would not be sufficient for Lailsan, but it would have to do for now.

"Now, about this people's revolution. What is going on, and how might we be of service to it?"

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am rather shocked...

Lailsan looked incredulously at Talathel, but before she could say anything Miss Stake responded in a much more business like manner.
"Well, if the word I have heard is true... you helped to get Aethea into power. Do you have any contacts in this world or are you just 'passing through' again?"

    ReplyDelete
  18. Talathel gave a slight chuckle. "I still don't have a clue where we are. I certainly didn't intend to come back. My wizard friend over there seemed shocked that we were here too. Now, as to me getting Aethea into power, where did you come to a conclusion like that? We helped defeat the shadowcasters. Anything that happened after that is beyond our control."

  19. "Is it? From what we have heard from Illuvaen you dashed through the dreamgate without bothering to destroy the crystal..." She tapped the desk. "So, you just came back to path on by, you seem to be good at that." She smiled. "Now, why are you here?"

    ReplyDelete
  20. "Our first priority was getting home. We know nothing of your politics and power struggles, and it was not, and is not, our place to aid one side or the other. This is a foreign place to myself and my friends, and, as before, all we would like to do is go home. Now please, may I speak with Iluvian?"

Talathel was slowly, but surely, losing his patience.

  21. Miss Stake looked at Talathel for a moment before nodding.
"Take them to Illuvaen, he should be able to meet with them."
The guards led them out of the room, down a flight of stairs, through a mirror on a wall and into a large open airy room. There were scant decorations on the wall and a large desk in the center of the room. Behind the desk Illuvane was pouring over papers.

  22. Illuvaen looked up at Talathel.
"You, what are you doing here?"
